Who is it for?

All practitioners who work directly with children and families who want to develop their confidence and practice skills in working with non-engaging families in North Lanarkshire.


Course content overview

This course is designed to highlight the importance of meaningful engagement with families in the wake of significant case review. It will provide:

  • an understanding of the reasons why families don’t engage with services
  • an understanding of the increased risk to the safety and welfare of children in non-engaging families
  • an understanding of the importance of a multi-agency approach where there are non-engaging families
  • the opportunity to consider shared strategies to support families to engage and enable assessment of a child’s safety and welfare
